using the tablet

how to check in new items

• grab the tablet
• on the myturn site, find the "add item" link
• hit the plus symbol to add a new item
• enter the tool's type
  • if it is already in there, there will be an existing form for entering information
    • add tool name
    • brand
    • id
      • for now, the id is the same as the location
      • the label printer doesn't have a dash so when typing in the location, use a dash instead of spaces.
    • serial number
    • description
    • picture
    • location code
    • keywords
    • condition
    • weight
    • embodied carbon
    • loans and money
      • so far, nothing requires extra money to check out
    • daily late fee
      • so far, nothing has a late fee
      • if you don't bring it back, you will get charged for the cost of a new one
    • loan period
      • typically one week
    • when complete, there is an option for adding the current item and then keeping the fields the same and adding a similar item

finding an item

creating a new user

• it will eventually ask for payment information
• if they are an unpaid member, the system will say so. get them to pay before checking stuff out.

what we can't do in the space

• don't modify the building

  • don't paint anything without permission

  • don't touch the fence to the west and don't touch the wall to the east
